Joe Strand named Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations

Weber State Director of Athletics Tim Crompton has named Joe Strand as the Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations. Strand returns to Weber State where he previously worked for more than 17 years.Â
In his role, Strand will oversee all gameday operations and event management for Wildcat Athletics. He will also oversee athletic facilities and operations and serve as the sports administrator for the WSU Spirit Squad.Â
He returns to Weber State after spending the last seven years as the Director of Sport Development with the Utah Sports Commission.Â
He worked at Weber State for more than 17 years from 1998-2016. He was the Event Manager/Guest Services Director at the Dee Events Center for 12 years. In 2010, he was elevated to the Assistant Director of the Dee Events Center.Â
Strand holds three degrees from Weber State University. He graduated in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in Communication and also a bachelor's degree in History. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree in 2010.Â
He and his wife Angie have four daughters Jersey, Dylan, Olive, and Daphne.Â
