Wildcats Sweep Vandals, 3-0

Ogden, UT – Weber State women's volleyball earned a 3-0 sweep of Idaho (25-15, 25-20, 25-13) at the Swenson Gym on Thursday night.
Set 1
Starting the match the Wildcats found their lead early on, pulling ahead 13-9. Holding onto that lead the 'Cats never looked back shutting down the Vandals with a 25-15 set one victory.
Set 2
The Vandals kept close in the second set, but never enough to pull ahead of the 'Cats. A 3-point run near the end of the set gave Weber a 23-19 lead. After a service error made by Idaho, Mia Peterson ended the set 25-20 with an ace.
Set 3
Weber State took control of the match in the third set. Dominating the score with a 7-point run early on in the set the Vandals struggled. Playing with energy and confidence the Wildcats continued to pull away from the Vandals and took the match 25-13.
Ashley Gneiting led the 'Cats tonight recording 13 kills and three blocks. In comparison to their opponents, Weber State hit a percentage of .333 and Idaho .116.
"Today was a group effort, everyone did a little bit more than they normally do," said head coach Jeremiah Larsen. "Ashley performed amazingly tonight, and I had complete confidence that she would hitting .407 on 13 kills."
Continuing on with Big Sky play, "Our team is talented, but we have to find some level of competitive consistency. We have a nice road stretch ahead that is really going to challenge us."
