GAME NOTES: Wildcats Back In The Dee To Host Montana

• Weber State is back at home to host the Montana Lady Griz at the Dee Events Center.

• The Wildcats and Lady Griz will tip off at 6 p.m. from the Dee Events Center in Ogden, UT. The game will be streamed on ESPN+. Live video links and stats can be found at WeberStateSports.com.

• Weber State is 6-13 overall and 3-3 in the Big Sky. The Wildcats started with their first seven games on the road but then won three straight games with wins over Nevada, Utah Tech, and Westminster. The Wildcats are coming off a road trip win over the Idaho Vandals, 61-56.

• Weber State has been led by senior Daryn Hickok. She is 9th in the Big Sky at 12.1 points per game and has scored in double figures in eleven games for the Wildcats. Hickok leads the team in scoring and steals. Hickok was named to the Big Sky Preseason All-Conference team and earned All-Big Sky honors last year. She has played in 122 games in five seasons at Weber State and ranks sixth in career scoring.

• Senior Jadyn Matthews has scored in double figures ten times this season and is second in scoring at 11.7 points per game. Matthews collected a career high 30 points in the Wildcats game against Sacramento State while also recording a season high 11 rebounds and five assists. She is first in rebounding and second in assists for Weber State. Matthews has played in 130 career games at Weber State and ranks first in Weber State history in career games played. She also ranks fourth in career rebounding and 12th in career scoring. She was fifth in the Big Sky Conference in rebounding and 11th in scoring last season.

• Weber State is under the direction of first year head coach Jenteal Jackson who was named the seventh head coach in WSU history in April. A Utah native and former in-state college player, she came to Weber State after spending the last two seasons as head coach at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Prior to becoming head coach, she spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at Westminster. She played college basketball at BYU and Westminster.

• Montana is 11-5, 3-2 on the season. The Lady Griz lost their last game against Montana State, 55-64. Montana sits in fourth place in the Big Sky and are led by Carmen Gfeller who averages 14.0 points for the Lady Griz and is sixth in the Big Sky in scoring. Montana's Dani Bartsch is first in the Big Sky in rebounding averaging 9.2.

• This will be the 93rd all-time meeting between the two schools with Montana holding a 78-15 series lead. In the last match up between the two teams, the Lady Griz beat the Wildcats 87-71 in Missoula. Montana is 43-4 in all-time games in Missoula and 33-10 in Ogden. The Lady Griz's last win in the series was on 12/29/23.

• After Monday's game, the Wildcats visit Pocatello, ID Saturday, Jan. 27 for a game against the Idaho State Bengals.
