Wildcats Fall to Lady Griz

Ogden, UT – The Weber State Wildcats fell 3-4 on the Big Sky season as the Purple and White fell to the Lady Griz of Montana 55-87 at the Dee Events Center Monday night.

The Wildcats took an early 17-11 lead on the Lady Griz with a couple of three-pointers to pull ahead with a six-point lead with under two minutes to go. Afterward the Lady Griz put together a five-point run to trail the Wildcats by only one to end the first quarter.

Putting together an 8-point run Montana was able to retake the lead and never look back. Baskets were hard to come by for Weber State as they were scoreless for over three minutes. In comparison, the Lady Griz had 23 points to the Wildcats six.

The three-ball was vital for the Lady Griz as they hit six throughout the quarter. That extended the lead Montana had to 72-42. The fourth quarter saw much of the same and the Wildcats were not enough as the Lady Griz came away with the 87-55 victory.

Wildcat leaders were Daryn Hickok (13 points) and Jadyn Matthews (12 points).
Taylor Smith totaled nine rebounds.
UM was awarded 18 points off of turnovers.
The Lady Griz shot 43.2% in 3PT% and totaled 16 three-pointers on the night.
