GAME NOTES: Wildcats Home in Dee for Contest with Lumberjacks

• Weber State is back home in the Dee Events Center for a game against the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks.
• The Wildcats and Lumberjacks will tip off at 6 p.m. from the Dee Events Center in Ogden, UT. The game will be streamed on ESPN+. Live video links and stats can be found at WeberStateSports.com.
• Weber State is 6-15 overall and 3-5 in the Big Sky and currently sit in eighth place. The Wildcats started with their first seven games on the road but then won three straight games with wins over Nevada, Utah Tech, and Westminster. The Wildcats are coming off a road game loss against the Idaho State Bengals, 47-55.
• Weber State has been led by senior Daryn Hickok. She is 10th in the Big Sky at 12.4 points per game and has scored in double figures in thirteen games for the Wildcats. Hickok leads the team in scoring, free throws, and steals. Hickok was named to the Big Sky Preseason All-Conference team and earned All-Big Sky honors last year. She has played in 124 games in five seasons at Weber State and ranks fourth in career scoring.
• Senior Jadyn Matthews has scored in double figures eleven times this season and is second in scoring at 11.4 points per game. Matthews collected a career high 30 points in the Wildcats game against Sacramento State while also recording a season high 11 rebounds and five assists. She is first in rebounding and second in assists for Weber State. Matthews has played in 132 career games at Weber State and ranks first in Weber State history in career games played. She also ranks fourth in career rebounding and 12th in career scoring. She was fifth in the Big Sky Conference in rebounding and 11th in scoring last season.
• Weber State is under the direction of first year head coach Jenteal Jackson who was named the seventh head coach in WSU history in April. A Utah native and former in-state college player, she came to Weber State after spending the last two seasons as head coach at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Prior to becoming head coach, she spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at Westminster. She played college basketball at BYU and Westminster.
• Northern Arizona is 14-6, 6-1 on the season. The Lumberjacks won their last game against Eastern Washington 89-81 in overtime in Flagstaff. The Northern Arizona squad is led by Sophie Glancey in scoring at 14.2 points per game. Glancey also leads the team in rebounds and blocks. The Lumberjacks currently sit in second place in the Big Sky Conference.
• This will be the 92nd all-time meeting between the two schools with a series of 47-45. In the last match up between the two teams, the Lumberjacks beat the Wildcats 66-57 in Ogden. Northern Arizona is 17-26 in all-time games in Ogden. The Wildcats last win in the series was on 2/3/18.
• After Thursday's game, the Wildcats are back in the Dee Events Center Saturday, Feb. 3 for a game against the Northern Colorado Bears.
