Rashid Shaheed is the first Wildcat ever named to the NFL Pro Bowl

Shaheed was named to the NFL Pro Bowl as a kick returner with the New Orleans Saints.
Former Weber State All-American Rashid Shaheed, now with the New Orleans Saints, has made Wildcat history by being named to the NFL Pro Bowl for the 2023 season.Â
Shaheed is the first former Weber State football player to be named to the Pro Bowl.Â
In his second year with the Saints, Shaheed was named as a returner to the NFC team in the Pro Bowl.Â
The 2024 NFL Pro Bowl Games will be held on Sunday, February 4 in Orlando with a new format that includes a flag football game at Camping World Stadium.Â
He is one of four players from an FCS school named to this year's Pro Bowl teams.Â
Entering the final game of the regular season, Shaheed has played in 14 games this season with the Saints and has 18 kickoff returns for an average of 21.3 yards per return. He also has 23 punt returns, including a punt return touchdown. He ranks third in the NFL in punt returns with 321 yards and punt return average at 14.0. Shaheed also has 43 receptions for 64 yards and four touchdowns.Â
Shaheed was a standout at Weber State from 2017-21 and was a four-time All-American. He is the only player in WSU history to earn All-America honors four times. Shaheed also earned first-team All-Big Sky honors four times and was a part of four Big Sky Championship teams.Â
He played in 53 career games at Weber State and ranks third in career all-purpose yards. He ended his career as the FCS all-time leader in kickoff return touchdowns with seven. He also had 2,178 career receiving yards, which is seventh in WSU history, and had 18 career touchdowns.Â
He was undrafted in the 2022 draft but signed as a free agent with the Saints. He has played in 26 games in two seasons with the Saints, entering the final game of the 2023 regular season. Â
