Weber State wins sixth-straight with road victory at Oral Roberts

TULSA, Oklahoma - Weber State won its sixth-straight game and ended the nation's longest home winning streak with an 83-78 win over Oral Roberts Saturday night at the Mabee Center. 

The game was part of the Big Sky-Summit League Challenge. The win snapped the 21-game home winning streak by Oral Roberts, which was tied for the longest streak in the nation. It was ORU's first home loss in nearly two years. 

Weber State shot 56 percent from the field and the 'Cats made six 3-pointers. WSU outrebounded Oral Roberts 33-25 and the Wildcats were 19 of 23 fro the free throw line. 

Dillon Jones recorded his 10th double-double of the season as he finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Jones scored 22 points in the second half and also dished out six assists. He was 10 of 16 from the field and 6 of 7 from the free throw line. Dyson Koehler added 17 points and knocked down four 3-pointers. 

Blaise Threatt had 13 points and three assists and Alex Tew added 10 first half points on 5 of 7 shooting. 

The Golden Eagles led by as many as nine points midway through the first half before Weber State rallied and tied the game 38-38 at halftime. 

Weber State built an 8-point lead with 2:22 to play on a Jones jumper and WSU led by 11 with 1:03 to play.

Oral Roberts made three 3-pointers in the final minute of action but Weber State was 7 of 8 from the free throw line in the final 41 seconds to seal the win. 

The Wildcats return to Big Sky play with two road games next week at Sacramento State on Thursday and Portland State on Saturday. 

The next Wildcat home game is on January 18 against Eastern Washington.
