GAME NOTES: Wildcats Ready For More Big Sky Action Against Sacramento State

• Weber State will host Sacramento State for their third Big Sky Conference game this Thursday evening.
• The Wildcats and Hornets will tip off at 6 p.m. from the Dee Events Center in Ogden, UT. The game will be streamed on ESPN+. Live video links and stats at WeberStateSports.com.
• Weber State is 3-12 overall and 0-2 in the Big Sky. The Wildcats started with their first seven games on the road but then won three straight games with wins over Nevada, Utah Tech, and Westminster. The Wildcats are coming off a 51-61 loss against Kansas City this past Saturday.
• Weber State had been led by senior Daryn Hickok. She is 9th in the Big Sky at 11.9 points per game and has scored in double figures in eight games for the Wildcats. Hickok leads the team in scoring and steals. Hickok was named to the Big Sky Preseason All-Conference team and earned All-Big Sky honors last year. She has played in 118 games in five seasons at Weber State and ranks seventh in career scoring.
• Senior Jadyn Matthews has scored in double figures seven times this season and is second in scoring at 9.9 points per game. She is first in rebounding and second in assists for Weber State. Matthews has played in 126 career games at Weber State. She also ranks fourth in career rebounding and 14th in career scoring. She was fifth in the Big Sky Conference in rebounding and 11th in scoring last season.
• Weber State is under the direction of first year head coach Jenteal Jackson who was named the seventh head coach in WSU history in April. A Utah native and former in-state college player, she came to Weber State after spending the last two seasons as head coach at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Prior to becoming head coach, she spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at Westminster. She played college basketball at BYU and Westminster.
• Sacramento State is 1-12, 0-2 on the season. The Hornets have lost their last six games with their last win against CSUN 58-48.
• This will be the 54th all-time meeting between the two schools with Sacramento State holding a 34-20 series lead. The Hornets have won the last two games against the Wildcats and Sacramento State is 13-12 all-time in games in Sacramento. Weber State's last win in the series was in Boise, ID in 2022. Weber State is 19-8 all-time in games in Ogden.
• After Thursday's game, the Wildcats will host Portland State for another Big Sky Conference game Saturday, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m.
