MOSCOW, Idaho - Weber State volleyball swept Idaho 3-0 Thursday evening at Memorial Gym.Â
SET 1 | Weber State took an 11-5 lead quickly to start the first set forcing Idaho to a timeout. The Vandals fought back, but ultimately could not recover from the Wildcats lead. WSU closed out the set 25-14. Weber State hit .409 percent, totaling 12 kills in the first set. Four of those by Ashley Gneiting and Victoria Marthaler.
SET 2 | Idaho tied up the second set 5-5 after a Zuzanna Wieczorek kill but could not pull ahead of the Wildcats as they strung together six points. A four point run by the Vandals tied up the set 11-11 until a trio of points for the Wildcats gave them a three point advantage. However, a tough Idaho squad again tied the set 17-17. Two kills then made by Rose Moore and Stacia Barker gave WSU a two point lead. With the set 23-20 in favor of Weber State, an Idaho attack error and Kate Payne kill closed out the set 25-20.
SET 3 |Â Much like the first two sets, Weber State pulled ahead to a five point lead after a Gneiting kill, Idaho attack error, and two WSU blocks. It was all the Wildcats from there, as the Weber State squad closed out the match 3-0 following a 25-16Â set win.
