Trailblazers defeat Wildcats

ST. GEORGE - The Weber State women's basketball team fell to the Utah Tech Trailblazers by a score of 81-78 this Saturday night at Burns Arena.
First Half | Weber State battled to start the game falling behind the Trailblazers 8-16 before fighting the deficit to tie the game 24-24 to end the quarter. Utah Tech was quick to take the lead early in the second quarter and Weber State trailed by six. However, 11 straight points for the Wildcats gave them their first lead in the game 39-36. Two three-pointers late in the quarter by Utah Tech allowed them the advantage heading into the half 44-41.
Second Half | The Wildcats continued to trail Utah Tech in the third quarter as the Trailblazers closed it out 60-58. Early into the fourth quarter, a layup made by Taylor Smith tied the score 60-60 and shortly after another layup by Antoniette Emma-Nnopu put the Wildcats in the lead. However, unable to hold onto the advantage, two back-to-back Trailblazer three-pointers put them up and gave them the separation needed to win the game 81-78.
