Weber State drops home game to Idaho State

The Bengals never trailed and scored on their first five possessions. They jumped out to a 9-0 lead early in the second quarter. The Wildcats scored on a 25-yard touchdown from Richie Muñoz to Jayleen Record to cut the lead to 9-78. Idaho State came back with a touchdown to take a 16-7 lead but the 'Cats scored again when Muñoz found Marvin Session for a 33-yard touchdown that made the score 16-14. However, ISU scored in the final minute of the second quarter and led 22-14 at halftime.Â
Both teams scored touchdowns in the third quarter. ISU extended its lead to 36-21 with 8:12 to play in the fourth quarter. The Wildcats answered with a touchdown from Muñoz to Peter Knudson but the Bengals responded with a 7-play, 75-yard drive and led 43-38 with 3:17 to play. Muñoz found Record for a six-yard touchdown in the final minute of the game.Â
Weber State totaled 506 yards of total offense, compared to 485 for Idaho State. The 'Cats had 191 yards rushing and 315 yards passing.Â
The Wildcats committed 10 penalties for 105 yards.Â
Muñoz was 28 of 43 passing for 315 yards and four touchdowns. Davion Godley had a career-high 109 rushing yards and one touchdown on 16 carries to lead the Wildcat rushing attack.Â
Marcus Chretien had seven receptions for 58 yards. Jacob Sharp had four catches for 55 yards and Marvin Session had three for 44 yards.Â
Kemari Munier-Bailey and Garrett Beck each had six tackles. Munier-Bailey also had 1.5 tackles for loss.Â
Weber State returns to the road at nationally-ranked Idaho next Saturday. The final home game fo the season will be on November 23 against Cal Poly.Â
