GAME NOTES: Wildcats host Bengals Saturday afternoon

• Weber State women's basketball is in the Dee Events Center for a game against the Idaho State Bengals.
• The Wildcats and Bengals will tip off at 2 p.m. from the Dee Events Center in Ogden, UT. The game will be streamed on ESPN+. Live video links and stats can be found at WeberStateSports.com.
• Weber State is 7-20 and 4-10 in the Big Sky and currently sit in eighth place. The Wildcats started with their first seven games on the road but then won three straight games with wins over Nevada, Utah Tech, and Westminster. The Wildcats are coming off a home game loss against the Eastern Washington Eagles, 74-54.
• Weber State has been led by senior Daryn Hickok. She is 10th in the Big Sky at 12.5 points per game and has scored in double figures in seventeen games for the Wildcats. Hickok leads the team in scoring, free throws, and steals. Hickok was named to the Big Sky Preseason All-Conference team and earned All-Big Sky honors last year. She has played in 130 games in five seasons at Weber State and ranks fourth in career scoring.
• Senior Jadyn Matthews has scored in double figures fourteen times this season and is second in scoring at 11.3 points per game. Matthews collected a career high 30 points in the Wildcats game against Sacramento State on 1/11/24 while also recording a season high 11 rebounds and five assists. She is first in rebounding and second in assists for Weber State. Matthews has played in 138 career games at Weber State and ranks first in Weber State history in career games played. She also ranks fourth in career rebounding and 9th in career scoring. She was fifth in the Big Sky Conference in rebounding and 11th in scoring last season.
• Weber State is under the direction of first year head coach Jenteal Jackson who was named the seventh head coach in WSU history in April. A Utah native and former in-state college player, she came to Weber State after spending the last two seasons as head coach at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Prior to becoming head coach, she spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at Westminster. She played college basketball at BYU and Westminster.
• Idaho State is 10-15, 6-8 on the season. The Bengals lost their last game against Idaho 49-48. The Idaho State squad has lost their last five games and currently sit in seventh place in the Big Sky. The Bengals are led by Maria Dias in scoring and free throws. Kacey Spink sits in fifth place in the Big Sky in rebounding averaging 6.9.
• This will be the 97th all-time meeting between the two team with a series of 49-48 for the Bengals. In the last match up between the two, the Bengals beat the Wildcats 55-47 in Pocatello. Idaho State is 20-26 in all-time games in Ogden.
• After Saturday's game, the Wildcats travel to Northern Colorado and Northern Arizona for their last two road games of the season. Weber State will go up against the Bears first Thursday Feb. 29 at 6:00 p.m.
