Lindsey Anderson named one of Big Sky's greatests

Lindsey Anderson inducted into Utah Sports Hall of Fame

Weber State legendary track and field athlete, current assistant coach, and Olympian Lindsey Anderson has been inducted into the Utah Sports Hall of Fame. 

Anderson was inducted as part of the 2024 class on September 9 in Salt Lake City. 

She has previously been inducted into the Weber State Athletics Hall of Fame and the Big Sky Conference Hall of Fame. 

Anderson is now an assistant coach with the Weber State men's and women's distance teams. 

A native of Morgan, Utah, Anderson was a standout with the Weber State women's track and field and cross country teams from 2004-07. She was a nine-time Big Sky Conference Champion, a two-time NCAA All-American, set the NCAA record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, and finished second at the NCAA Championships. 

She was also the first Weber State athlete in any sport to compete in the Summer Olympics as she qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics in the steeplechase. 

She was inducted into the Weber State Hall of Fame in 2017 and the Big Sky Conference Hall of Fame in 2023. She was named one of the Big Sky Conference's 25 Greatest Female Athletes of all time in 2014. 

She was an assistant coach at Weber State and Cal State Bakersfield, before becoming head coach at College of Southern Idaho where she was twice named the National Women's Coach of the Year. 

She then spent one season as the head cross country coach at the University of Missouri, before returning to Weber State as an assistant coach in 2023.
