Five Weber State runners finish within 41 seconds of one another in Saturday's 6K championship race
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The Weber State women's cross country team continued its 2026 season Saturday, competing in the 6,000-meter championship race at the Indiana State John McNichols Invitational.
The Wildcats were led by Saga Hagelin, who finished the race in 21:55.4. Hailey Day followed closely behind, crossing the finish line in 21:58.7.
Hannah Bailey was next across for Weber State, finishing in 22:06.0, while Frances Hudson recorded a time of 22:16.7. Lauren Thornley rounded out the Wildcats' top five with a time of 22:35.9.
The Weber State pack remained tightly grouped throughout the race, with the five Wildcats separated by just 40.5 seconds at the finish.
Saturday's 6K marked Weber State's second competition of the season and provided the Wildcats with an opportunity to race at a longer distance and compete against a large field in Terre Haute.
The Wildcats will continue their season as they prepare for the Idaho State Invitational on Oct. 2 in Pocatello, Idaho.
