Weber State women's cross country heads to Flagstaff for the Big Sky Championships Saturday
The Weber State women's cross country team will close out its championship season Saturday, traveling to Flagstaff, Arizona, for the 2026 Big Sky Cross Country Championships.
The Wildcats will race at an elevation of approximately 7,000 feet on a challenging course against a strong Big Sky field, giving Weber State an opportunity to put its growth throughout the season to the test.
"I'm excited to watch our team battle tomorrow," Weber State head coach said. "It's a great course with some very good competition, so it will be fun to test ourselves a bit and see what we can do."
Weber State has continued to build throughout the 2026 season, with strong pack performances highlighting the Wildcats' year. At the Bill Dellinger Invitational earlier this month, Weber State placed sixth as a team in the 6,000-meter race, with six Wildcats finishing within 46 seconds of one another.
Saga Hagelin led the Wildcats at Dellinger, finishing 17th with a season-best time of 21:01. Hailey Day followed in 26th at 21:26, recording a personal best, while Elayna Loveridge also posted a personal-best time of 21:31 to finish 31st.
Hannah Bailey added a season-best 21:43, while Melanie Anderson and Frances Hudson finished in 21:46 and 21:47, respectively, with both recording either a personal or season best.
The Wildcats have also shown their depth throughout the season, with strong performances coming from across the roster as Weber State prepares for its biggest race of the year.
After a season of hard work and continued development, Anderson is excited to see the team take the line and compete against the best in the conference.
"I'm proud of all the hard work they've put in this season," she said.
