Wildcats Put Together Strong Team Showing at Pair of Meets

Weber State finishes sixth at the Bill Dellinger Invitational as six Wildcats post season or personal bests
The Weber State women's cross country team split its squad Friday, with Wildcats competing at both the Bill Dellinger Invitational in Eugene, Oregon, and the CSI Invitational in Twin Falls, Idaho.
The Wildcats turned in strong performances at both meets, led by a sixth-place team finish at the Bill Dellinger Invitational and a tightly packed group at CSI.
At the Bill Dellinger Invitational, Weber State finished sixth overall in the 6,000-meter race, with six Wildcats finishing within 46 seconds of one another.
Saga Hagelin led Weber State in 17th place, recording a season-best time of 21:01. Hailey Day followed in 26th at 21:26, setting a new personal best, while Elayna Loveridge finished 31st in 21:31, also recording a personal best.
Hannah Bailey crossed the finish line in 41st with a season-best time of 21:43. Melanie Anderson followed closely in 43rd at 21:46, setting a personal best, and Frances Hudson finished 44th in 21:47 with a season-best time.
The performance gave Weber State a strong pack throughout the race, with the Wildcats' top six separated by less than a minute and five of the six recording either a season or personal best.
At the CSI Invitational, Weber State also put together a strong showing in the 5,000-meter race, with four Wildcats finishing consecutively from 14th through 17th.
Kynzie Nielson and Jaycee Jensen crossed the finish line together in 19:35, placing 14th and 15th, respectively. Brooklyn Dayley and Jolynn Jones followed closely behind, both finishing in 19:56 to place 16th and 17th.
With strong individual performances and tight team packs at both meets, the Wildcats continue to build momentum as the championship portion of the season approaches.
Weber State will now turn its attention toward the Big Sky Championships and NCAA Mountain Region Championships in the coming weeks.
