Weber State up against Montana on Thursday

Weber State is 2-1 in Big Sky play.
Weber State women's basketball will matchup against the Montana Griz this Thursday in Missoula.
This will be the 94th all-time meeting between the Wildcats and the Griz. The series is led by Montana State 78-15 with the Griz leading 43-4 in Missoula. In the last game between the two, Montana won 87-55 in Ogden. The last time that the Wildcats beat the Griz was in 2022.
Montana is 5-10, 1-3 following a 49-57 loss against Northern Colorado. Mack Konig leads the Griz averaging 11.3 points per game. Avery Waddington is on top for the Griz in rebounding averaging 5.8 per game. Dani Bartsch averages 1.7 3-pointers per game and was named to the Preseason All-Conference team. Last season Bartsch received Second Team All-Conference and All-Defensive Team honors. Montana was picked third in the Big Sky Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Three Wildcats are nationally ranked: Taylor Smith is ranked No. 164 in blocks per game and No. 10 in free throw percentage, Kendra Parra is ranked No. 15 in free throw percentage, and Antoniette Emma-Nnopu is ranked No. 71 in rebounds per game.
Weber State is under the direction of second year head coach Jenteal Jackson who was named the seventh head coach in WSU history. A Utah native and former in-state college player, she came to Weber State after spending the two seasons as head coach at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Prior to becoming head coach, she spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at Westminster. She played college basketball at BYU and Westminster.
Wildcats Kendra Parra, Kennedy Eskelson, Margarita Satini, Taylor Smith, and Amanda Edwards all return to the Weber State team this season. Weber State picked up transfers Rose Bubakar from BYU, Antoniette Emma-Nnopu from UNC Greensboro, Lanae Billy from Fort Lewis College, Japrix Stubbs from USU Eastern, and Arizana Peaua from Westminster. The team also welcomed five newcomers, Maya Davis, Fui Niumeitolu, Mata Peaua, Dakota Nap, and Vanna Quintana.
Following Thursday's game, the Wildcats continue on the road to Bozeman for a game against Montana State.
