OGDEN - Securing their third win in Big Sky play, the Weber State women's basketball team came out on top with a 62-48 win over the Portland State Vikings Thursday evening.
First Half | Weber State ended the first quarter with a 15-12 advantage but the Vikings found momentum early in the second quarter. A Portland State 3-pointer earned the Vikings a two point lead at 19-17. That lead was short lived as the Wildcats responded with a Kendra Parra 3-pointer and shortly after a Mata Peaua layup to put the 'Cats back on top. The Vikings worked their way back chipping at the deficit to end the half down by one at 23-24.
Second Half | The beginning of the third quarter was what gave the Wildcats a lead that the Vikings could not recover from. An 11-0 run and not allowing Portland State a score until 5:16 in the quarter. From then on the Wildcats kept a good distance and maintained the lead for a 62-48 win.
