Bobcats top Wildcats, 3-1 in Bozeman

BOZEMAN, Montana - Wildcat volleyball fell 3-1 this Thursday night to the Montana State Bobcats. The loss drops the 'Cats to 4-3 in Big Sky play.
Montana State came out strong, using a five-point run early in the opening set to take control. The Wildcats battled back; however, they were unable to generate enough offense to recover, ultimately dropping the set 25-14. The Wildcats responded in the second set, taking advantage of a pair of Bobcat attack errors to build a 17-10 lead. Using kills from Jayda Tupea and Rose Moore to maintain the advantage and close out the set 25-18.
The third set was tightly contested, with seven ties and three lead changes. Montana State used a late four-point run to pull ahead 22-17. The Wildcats fought back behind a Tupea kill and Saane Munyer solo block to cut the deficit to three, but the Bobcats finished strong with three straight kills to take the set 25-19 and regain the match lead, 2–1.
Looking to push the match to a decisive fifth set, Weber State jumped out to a four-point lead early. The Bobcats responded with a 6-0 run to return the lead in their favor. Late in the set, the Wildcats strung together three points to pull within two, but at match point, Montana State sealed the win with a final kill to take the set 25-22 and the match, 3–1.
