Peter Visser places 35th at NCAA Championships

Visser Awarded All-American Honors
Peter Visser recorded a 35th place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Columbia, Missouri on November 22. This is the fifth highest individual NCAA finish in team history.
"It was a really great day for Weber State cross country," Head Coach Corbin Talley said. "And I feel like this one is especially rewarding because Peter has worked so hard for it over the past five years. I'm really proud of his performance today, but equally proud of all of the discipline and trust that it took to get here."
Visser received All-American Honors for finishing in the top 40. He crossed the finish line with a time of 29:02.3 in the 10k race, which is also the fastest 10k race in Weber State history.
"He had put himself in a position to get All-American, and then he put his whole heart into that final section of the race. Pete is such a gutsy, determined runner. He has shown that all season long, and in particular when it really mattered today," Talley said.
He is the 6th Wildcat in history to earn cross country All-American Honors.
"He executed a perfect race. Got off the line well and stayed steady, strong, and calm throughout the first 7k, and then absolutely crushed the last 3k loop of the race, which is the hardest section with a lot of hills," Talley said.
This was his third straight appearance at the Championships. He is the first Wildcat in team history to ever qualify individually three times.Â
"The team had a watch party back home in Ogden, and were going crazy. Even though we are halfway across the country, he felt love and support from his teammates back home," Talley said.
Visser previously recorded a 126th place finish at the 2024 championships and 150th at the 2023 championships.
This concludes the 2025 cross country season.
