Wildcats open Big Sky Tournament with a sweep over Griz

GREELEY, Colorado - Wildcat volleyball opened the 2025 Big Sky Tournament with a 3-0 sweep over the Montana Griz.
In dominating fashion, the Weber State volleyball squad defeated No. 5 Montana 25-18 in the opening set of the Big Sky Tournament. Not allowing the Griz a single lead, the Wildcats jumped out to a 17-9 advantage, courtesy of two 3-0 runs. Weber State hit .500 percent on 16 kills and 32 total attacks.
The second set saw more action as Montana trailed by three points at 19-16. A service ace by Morgan Pratt and a kill by Rose Moore then advanced the Wildcats to 22-16. The Griz managed to string together a few points to work at the deficit however, Weber State proved to be too much as they took a 2-0 advantage after a 25-20 set victory.
With the match on the line, Montana was looking to stay in it. Taking a 15-13 lead over Weber State, the Wildcats did not let that last as five straight points to go up 18-15. Using that momentum, the Weber State defense prevented Montana from regaining the lead. The purple and white secured the 25-20 set win and the 3-0 sweep.

- Weber State recorded 46 kills for a .357 hitting percentage compared to Montana's 41 kills for a .198 hitting percentage.
- Weber State has swept its last three matches.
- The Wildcats will continue Big Sky Tournament play tomorrow at 4 p.m. against the winner of this afternoon's match between Northern Arizona and Idaho State.
