‘Cats fall on the road to Utah Valley

Edwin Suarez had a double-double with a career-high 26 points and had 10 rebounds.
OREM - Edwin Suarez Jr. had a career-high and a double-double, but it wasn't enough for Weber State as the Wildcats fell 90-74 at Utah Valley Wednesday night in the UCCU Center.
Utah Valley shot 58.6 from the field, the best shooting performance by any team against the Wildcats this year. They also made nine 3-pointers, dished out 23 assists, and had 10 blocked shots.
Suarez Jr. scored a career-high 26 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Wildcats. He was 11 of 15 from the field on the night and had two steals.
The 26 points are the most scored by any Wildcat in a game this season.
He started the game on fire and broke his career-high with five minutes left in the first half. He scored 15 of Weber State's first 20 points of the game.
The two teams were tied 20-20 with 8:41 to play in the first half, but the Wolverines closed the first half on a 20-12 run and took a 40-32 lead at the break. UVU shot 55 percent from the field in the first half.
Utah Valley led by as many as 18 points with 12:00 to play in the second half. UVU was up 15 with eight minutes to play, when the 'Cats went on a 7-0 run to cut the lead to eight with 6:37 remaining.
The Wolverines responded with a 10-0 run and pushed the lead to 19 with 3:12 remaining to seal the win.
The Wildcats shot 45 percent from the field and were 4 of 13 from 3-point range. UVU won the rebounding battle 35-29.
After playing three straight road games, it's finally back home for the Wildcats, who will play their next four games at the Dee Events Center, beginning Saturday night against Utah Tech.
