5/14/2025 6:00:00 AM | Softball

This will be the Wildcats fifth NCAA Tournament appearance.

The Weber State Wildcats will face the No. 16 Oregon Ducks in the NCAA Regionals for the second time this season. The Wildcats previously fell to the Ducks in a 9–1, six-inning loss at the Littlewood Classic in February, held in Tempe, Arizona.

Despite being picked to finish fifth in the Big Sky Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, Weber State emerged as the Big Sky Champion, defeating top-seeded Idaho State 10-4 to claim their fifth conference title. Senior Olivia Birkinshaw was named Tournament MVP, while Taegan Smith, Brooke Merrill, Mariyah Delgado and Sadie Kirk earned spots on the All-Tournament Team.

The Wildcats last earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals in 2022. In 2019, they recorded their first NCAA Regional win with a 7-3 victory over Cal State Fullerton in Los Angeles.
