Wildcat softball places two on 2025 CSC Academic All-District Team

OGDENÂ -Â Weber State softball placed two student-athletes on the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
The award recognizes student-athletes who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.
Abby Grundy, a junior from South Jordan, Utah, posted a 3.87 GPA and started in 51 games for the Wildcats. She led both the team and the Big Sky Conference in doubles with 18. Grundy also tallied 49 hits, five home runs, and 35 RBIs. Defensively, she recorded a .928 fielding percentage with 44 putouts and 59 assists. She was a two-time Big Sky Player of the Week and earned First Team All-Big Sky honors.
Riley Whalen, a junior from Menifee, California, recorded a 3.70 GPA and started in all 58 games for the Wildcats. She led the team with a .356 batting average and totaled 67 hits, eight doubles, three triples, three home runs, and 25 RBIs. Whalen also earned First Team All-Big Sky honors for her standout performance.
