Damian Lillard to host Weber State Basketball Alumni Classic on August 2

NBA superstar Damian Lillard and several other all-time Wildcat greats are coming back for another Weber State Basketball Alumni Classic.

Lillard will once again serve as host for the classic, which will be held on Saturday, August 2.

Due to construction inside the Dee Events Center, this year's Alumni Classic will be held at the Swenson Gym on the WSU campus.

This year's Alumni Classic is presented by Mountain America Credit Union.

This will be the sixth Alumni Classic that Lillard has hosted. He previously hosted classics in 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2023.

This year will feature a new 3-on-3 format with teams of four competing for the title.

The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with shooting contests, followed by the 3-on-3 tournament. Lillard will not participate in the events, but will be available for a pregame autograph session.

Lillard, a nine-time NBA All-Star, played four seasons at Weber State from 2008-12, before going on to the NBA. He was named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2022.

He will be joined at the classic by several former Wildcat greats, including some still playing professionally. Some of the players scheduled to compete include Davion Berry, Jimmy DeGraffenried, Nick Hansen, JJ Overton, David Patten, Nic Sparrow, and Kyle Tresnak. The full rosters will be announced later.

There will also be involvement from alumni of the Weber State women's basketball program at the event.

Due to capacity at the Swenson Gym, seating will be limited to approximately 1,200 fans.

Tickets for the event will go on sale on July 16. More ticket information will be available soon.
