Gavin Lowe led the way with 15 points. Home opener is Saturday night against Utah Valley.
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State scored 59 points in the second half as the Beavers knocked off Weber State 102-61 on Monday night at Gill Coliseum in the season opener of the 2026-27 season.
The game was also the regular-season debut for first-year Weber State head coach Kaleb Canales.
Weber State trailed 45-35 at halftime before the Beavers outscored the Wildcats 59-26 in the second half.
The Wildcats shot 30 percent from the field and were 6 of 35 from 3-point range. Weber State also finished 7 of 12 from the free throw line.
Oregon State shot 49.2 percent from the field and outrebounded Weber State 54-40.
Weber State committed 10 turnovers and forced 11 Oregon State turnovers. The Wildcats had 16 offensive rebounds and scored 13 second-chance points.
In his first career college game, freshman Gavin Lowe started the game and led Weber State with 15 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field. ArDarius Grayson added 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists, while Aaron Powell and Augustine Ekwe each scored eight points. Ekwe also grabbed five rebounds.
The Wildcats will return to Ogden for their regular-season home opener Saturday, Nov. 7, against Utah Valley at the Dee Events Center. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
Weber State will play every school in the state of Utah and will have 15 regular-season home games this season.
