Weber State vs. UC Irvine | W, 3-1

Weber State and UC Irvine opened the match in a back-and-forth battle, trading points early in the first set. Three straight kills by Ashley Gneiting gave the Wildcats a five-point advantage, but a trio of errors allowed the Anteaters to close the gap. Holding a 22-20 lead, the Wildcats closed the set behind a service ace from Morgan Pratt and two Anteater errors.

Weber State carried that momentum into the second set, pulling ahead 15-8 following three quick kills. The Wildcats' offense kept rolling, not allowing the Anteaters back into it as they secured the set 25-17 and took a 2-0 match lead.

UC Irvine answered in the third as the Anteaters jumped ahead 18-10. Weber State battled, cutting the deficit to 23-18 after back-to-back kills from Kaylie Ray. However, UC Irvine held on to take the set 25-20, extending the match to a fourth set.

The fourth set was a grind for both teams as they traded momentum. The Anteaters led early, but the Wildcats worked their way back to tie the score at 18. Ray delivered a kill to give the 'Cats an edge, and Moore sealed the win with two straight kills for a 25-22 set victory and 3-1 match win. Moore led the Wildcats with a career-high 20 kills, while Ray added 16 kills and Gneiting added 10. The win over UC Irvine marked the first ever for the Wildcats.
