‘Cats compete at the Bedford Cup

Colorado Springs, CO — The Weber State men's tennis team competed at the ITA Bedford Cup in the Mountains in Colorado over the weekend.
Connor Kruger, Ken Dinh, Theo Mottier, William Zulch, and Franco Quijano all competed in the tournament.
Dinh took down an opponent from BYU in the East draw of the Lightning stage 6-3, 6-4, before falling in the 2nd round to an opponent from the Air Force Academy.
In the same draw, Kruger was defeated in 3 sets by a player from New Mexico State, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
In the Falcon draw, both Quijano and Mottier had a bye in the first round before they were defeated in the round of 16.
In the North draw of the Falcon stage, Quijano and Mottier both advanced to the final, where they were set to play each other. Mottier took down opponents from Idaho and BYU to advance to the finals, while Quijano defeated members of the New Mexico State and NAU tennis teams to move on to the final.
In doubles, Kruger and Dinh advanced to the quarterfinals of the East region before ultimately falling to a duo from the University of Idaho.
In the same region, Zulch and Mottier advanced to the 2nd round of the region after defeating a team from New Mexico State 6-3.
The team will close out its fall season with the ITA Mountain Regionals on the campus of UNLV in a tournament that will run from October 15th to October 20th.
