Wildcats Look to Continue Strong Conference Start Against Southern Utah

Weber State returns to Wildcat soccer field Sunday looking to build on a 2-0-1 start to Big Sky play
OGDEN, Utah — Weber State women's soccer returns to Wildcat Soccer Field Sunday afternoon looking to continue its strong start to Big Sky Conference play when the Wildcats host Southern Utah.
Weber State enters Sunday's matchup with a 6-5-2 overall record and a 2-0-1 mark in conference play after earning four points on its opening road trip before returning home for a 5-0 victory over Utah Tech Thursday night.
The Wildcats put together one of their strongest performances of the season against the Trailblazers, scoring three goals in the first half before adding two more after the break. Lily Blum scored twice, while Sayler Schlosser, Simone Packer and Cici Garcia each added a goal.
The Wildcats also recorded their second consecutive shutout, with Lauren Butorac and Maya Cordova combining for the clean sheet. Weber State has now outscored its opponents 8-2 through its first three conference matches.
Sunday's matchup will be the second consecutive home conference game for Weber State, which will look to maintain the momentum from Thursday's five-goal performance.
Southern Utah enters the match with a 4-6-2 overall record and a 1-1-1 mark in Big Sky play. The Thunderbirds earned their first conference win since returning to the Big Sky with a 1-0 victory over Portland State on Oct. 4 before playing Idaho State to a scoreless draw Thursday.
Southern Utah goalkeeper Tatum Trout has recorded back-to-back shutouts entering Sunday's matchup, including a three-save performance against Idaho State. The Thunderbirds have allowed just one goal across their last three matches.
The matchup marks Southern Utah's return to Weber State after the Thunderbirds rejoined the Big Sky for the 2026 season. The two programs last competed as Big Sky members before SUU's departure from the conference following the 2021 season.
