Weber State heads to Missoula Sunday for a 1 P.M. matchup
OGDEN, Utah — The Weber State women's soccer team returns to the road Sunday, looking to bounce back from Thursday's 2-1 loss at Portland State when it takes on Montana at 1 p.m. MT in Missoula.
The Wildcats enter Sunday's matchup at 7-6-2 overall and 3-1-1 in Big Sky play. Weber State opened conference action unbeaten through its first four matches before Thursday's road loss and currently sits among the top teams in the Big Sky standings.
Despite the result at Portland State, the Wildcats created plenty of offensive opportunities, finishing with 22 shots and eight shots on goal. Lily Blum scored Weber State's lone goal in the 2-1 loss, finding the back of the net just after halftime off an assist from Oakley Anderson.
Blum continues to lead the Wildcats offensively and was named the Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week earlier this week after recording six points in Weber State's two wins over Utah Tech and Southern Utah. She scored three of Weber State's six goals during the week, including the game-winning goal against Southern Utah.
Defensively, Weber State will look to return to the form it showed during its three-game winning streak, when the Wildcats recorded shutouts against Utah Tech and Southern Utah.
Montana enters Sunday's match at 3-8 overall and 1-3 in conference play. The Grizzlies opened Big Sky play with a 1-0 win at Southern Utah before falling 2-0 at Utah Tech and 2-0 to Idaho State on Thursday.
The Grizzlies are the defending Big Sky regular-season and tournament champions and will host the 2026 Big Sky Soccer Championship in Missoula Nov. 11, 13 and 15.
Sunday's matchup will be the 33rd meeting between Weber State and Montana. The Wildcats will look to return to the win column and earn another important three points in the Big Sky standings as they continue their road swing.
