MISSOULA, Mont. — The Weber State women's soccer team had a dominant performance Sunday afternoon, earning a 3-0 shutout victory over Montana at South Soccer Stadium.

Weber State doubled its advantage less than nine minutes later. Lily Blum scored at 23:37 to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
Blum added her second goal of the afternoon in the 64th minute, converting a free kick from just outside the box at 63:10 to complete the scoring and give Weber State a three-goal advantage.
The Wildcats controlled the offensive attack throughout the afternoon, finishing with 25 shots and 11 shots on goal. Sayler Schlosser led Weber State with seven shots and three shots on goal, while Anderson recorded four shots and two on frame. Blum finished with four shots and two on goal to go along with her two goals.
Thomas added two shots and an assist, while KJ Skinner recorded three shots and one shot on goal. Bonnie Buswell also put her lone shot on target, while Amanda Caswell recorded one shot on goal.
Weber State's defense kept Montana off the scoreboard behind a combined shutout from Lauren Butorac and Maya Cordova. Butorac played the first half and recorded two saves, while Cordova took over in the second half and also made two saves. Montana finished with 14 shots and four shots on goal.
The victory moves the Wildcats to 8-6-2 overall and 4-1-1 in Big Sky play. Weber State will now enter its bye week before returning home for its final three regular-season matches.
Today was an important win after dropping points in our first game of the weekend, head coach Kyle Christensen said. The players responded well and I'm pleased with the effort of the team. Now we can have our bye week and we can work on fine tuning the areas that we can improve. We look forward to going into our last three regular-season games which are all at home and the girls are excited to compete for a regular season title.
The Wildcats return to Wildcat Soccer Field Thursday, Oct. 29, hosting Northern Colorado at 7 p.m. MT.
