Weber State returns home for senior night, beginning it's final three regular season matches at home
OGDEN, Utah — The Weber State women's soccer team returns to Wildcat Soccer Field Thursday night for Senior Night, opening a three-game home stretch to close out the regular season against Northern Colorado. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. MT.
The Wildcats enter Thursday's match at 8-6-2 overall and 4-1-1 in Big Sky Conference play after earning a 3-0 road victory at Montana on Sunday. Weber State controlled the match from start to finish, recording 25 shots and 11 shots on goal while holding the Grizzlies scoreless.
Lily Blum led the way with two goals in the victory, reaching double figures for the season with 10 goals. Oakley Anderson also found the back of the net, while Harlee Thomas recorded an assist. The Wildcats' defense combined with goalkeepers Lauren Butorac and Maya Cordova to record the shutout.
Thursday's matchup begins the final three regular-season contests for the Wildcats, all of which will be played at Wildcat Soccer Field. Following Thursday's Senior Night matchup, Weber State will host Northern Arizona Sunday, Nov. 1 and Idaho State Thursday, Nov. 5 before heading to the Big Sky Conference Tournament in Missoula.
Northern Colorado enters Thursday's match at 7-5-4 overall and 4-0-2 in conference play. The Bears are currently riding a three-match winning streak and sit tied atop the Big Sky standings with 14 conference points.
The Wildcats will also celebrate their seniors Thursday night as part of Senior Night. Weber State's senior class has helped the program reach the final stretch of another competitive season, and the Wildcats will look to give the group another memorable night at home.
With the regular season winding down and three home matches remaining, Weber State will look to carry the momentum from Sunday's road victory into Thursday's matchup and continue its push toward the top of the Big Sky standings.
