Five Wildcat seniors participate in 2026 Weber State Pro Day

OGDEN - Weber State football held its annual Pro Day this week with five Wildcat seniors performing in front of NFL scouts.Â
The Pro Day was held on Wednesday morning at the Stewart Stadium and WSU seniors Sloan Calder, Angel King, Colter May, Gavin Ortega, and Jayleen Record showcased their talents for a dozen scouts from a variety of NFL teams.Â
The players participated in the bench press, vertical and broad jumps, 40-yard dash, and other on-field position and agility tests. Â
Ortega and Record were team captains for the Wildcats in 2025, and King and Ortega all earned Big Sky All-Conference honors.Â
Ortega was a first-team All-Big Sky selection and earned All-America honors from FCS Central after starting all 12 games on the offensive line for the Wildcats in 2025. He anchored the WSUÂ
Sloan Calder earned second-team All-Big Sky honors last season and finished second in the nation in field goals made per game. He knocked down 18 of 21 field goals on the season, tied for the seventh-most made in a season in WSU history.Â
Angel King earned honorable mention All-Big Sky honors after playing 11 games during the season. He finished third on the WSU team in tackles with 60.Â
Colter May finished his six-year career at Weber State in 2025 and played in 43 games over six seasons. He played in all 12 games as a senior and finished third on the team in rushing. He had 240 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the final four games of the season.Â
Jayleen Record was a two-time team captain and played three seasons with the Wildcats. He led the 'Cats in receiving in 2025 with 37 catches for 398 yards and three touchdowns. He had 873 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in three seasons at Weber State.
The Wildcats will continue to train in hopes of being drafted, signed as a free agent, invited to a franchise's minicamp, or offered other pro opportunities. The 2026 NFL Draft will be April 23-25 in Pittsburgh.Â
