Wildcats Open Fall Season with Fourth Place at Wolverine Invitational

SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah – The Weber State women's golf team opened up the 2026 fall season this week, earning a fourth place finish at the Wolverine Invitational at Talons Cove Golf Club with a 20-over par total of 884.

The Wildcats opened up the tournament on Monday with rounds of 291 and 300 and finished up with a 293 on Tuesday.

Tournament hosts Utah Valley claimed the team title, shooting 875 for a two-shot victory over second place Wyoming. Southern Utah finished third at 878 in the 10-team field.

Cala Korman led the way for Weber State, shooting a 1-under par total of 215 on rounds of 72, 74 and 69. Her final round 69 included a late run in which she posted five birdies in a six hole stretch from 11 to 16.

Braylyn Bayer tied for 12th place at 5-over par 221 on rounds of 74, 73 and 74, while Jade Gruher tied for 14th place at 6-over par 222 behind rounds of 70, 76 and 76.

Vienna Scheffer opened her collegiate career with rounds of 75, 77 and 74 for a 10-over par 226 and a tie for 30th place, and Erika Kobayashi shot 22-over par 238 on rounds of 80, 79 and 79.

Playing as an individual, Payten Baca shot 16-over par 232 to tie for 46th place. Her tournament included a 1-under par 71 in the final round.

Elsa Krause also played as an individual and finished 64h with a total of 256.

Southern Utah's Sayler May shot 8-under par 208 to take individual medalist honors.
