Wildcat Men Continue Season at John McNichols Invitational

Four Weber State runners finish within 23 seconds of one another in Saturday's 8K championship race

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. —The Weber State men's cross country team continued its 2026 season Saturday at the Indiana State John McNichols Invitational, competing in the 8,000-meter championship race at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Tyler Spencer led the Wildcats across the finish line, posting a time of 25:03.5. Raivio Manzer followed closely behind at 25:10.2, while Jess Christiansen finished in 25:20.7 and Evan Harris crossed in 25:26.2.

The Wildcats' top four runners finished within 22.7 seconds of one another, showcasing the team's tight pack as the season continues.

TJ Warnick rounded out Weber State's top five with a time of 26:18.6.

The John McNichols Invitational provided the Wildcats with their second competition of the season and their first 8K race of the year. The experience gives Weber State another opportunity to build toward the remainder of its 2026 schedule.

Weber State will return to competition at the Idaho State Invitational on Oct. 2 in Pocatello, Idaho.
