Gabe Long is in his second season as a volunteer assistant with Weber State football. He serves as an assistant defensive line coach with the Wildcats.Â
In 2019, he helped lead Weber State to a three-straight Big Sky title and a trip to the semifinals of the FCS Playoffs. Weber State also finished third in the nation, the highest ranking in school history.Â
Long is a native of Yorba Linda, California. He played college football at the University of Utah from 2006-07. He appeared in 21 games in his two seasons at Utah and recorded 63 total tackles with 11 tackles for loss and is sacks. He also had four pass deflections and three forced fumbles.Â
He graduated from the University of Utah in 2007 with a degree in Sociology.Â
Prior to playing at Utah, he was a junior college All-American at Fullerton College.Â
Long spent six seasons coach football at Viewmont High School.Â
