John Michel is in his second season as the video coordinator for the Wildcat men’s basketball program. He also assists with all other areas of the program.
Prior to coming to Weber State, John was an assistant coach at Scottsdale Community College during the 2018-19 season. During his season at SCC, he helped the Fighting Artichokes to a 20-12 record, the most wins in a season since 2003, and an appearance in the Region 1 NJCAA Championship for the first time since 2006.
He also spent three seasons (2015-18) as a student manager at Grand Canyon University under head coach Dan Majerle. In his three seasons, the Antelopes posted a 71-28 record.
John graduated from Grand Canyon in 2018 with a degree in Sports Management and a minor in Entrepreneurial Studies.
He is a native of Tucson, Arizona, and graduated from Walden Grove High School in 2014.
