..Finished 4th in the women's Hammer Throw at the 2010 Big Sky Conference Outdoor championships, hosted by Weber State, with a school-record toss of 175-11.75. ... Was 12th in the Shot Put with a mark of 43-02.00. ... Had a season-best Shot Put mark of 44-06.25 on March 6th at the UNLV Early Bird Invitational.
2010: Indoor – ..Qualified for the 2010 Big Sky Indoor meet in both the Shot Put (43-01.75) and the 20-Pound Weight Throw (54-05.25). ... Was 13th at the 2010 Indoor Championship in the 20-Pound Weight Throw in a season best 46-06.25. ... Was 12th in the Shot Put (42-00.50). ... Named to the 2010 Big Sky Conference Indoor Track All-Academic Team with a 3.34 in Art.
2009 Outdoor – Will red-shirt the 2009 outdoor season.
2009: Indoor – Broke her own school record in the 20lb Weight Throw with a toss of 54-08.00 at the Wildcat Invitiational on Feb. 19. ... Qualified in both the shot put and weight throw for the conference meet. ... Threw a season and personal best 47-04.25 in the shot put at the Conference meet finishing 4th.
2008: Outdoor – Qualified for the Big Sky Championships in the hammer and the shot put...Competed in both events at the conference meet...Finished eighth overall in the shot put with a mark of 44-09.75...Did not post a mark in the Hammer...Posted a career best mark of 170-02 in the hammer at the Utah Twilight Meet in Salt Lake City....That mark ranks as the second best mark in Weber State history...Also had a career best mark of 45-11.75 in the shot put at the BYU Cougar Invitational, ranking in a tie for the fourth best mark in school history.
2008: Indoor – Set a Weber State school record in the weight throw during the season...Posted a mark of 52-02.75 in the event at the Best Buy Weber State Indoor Open February 21 to break the old school record...Qualified for the Big Sky Championships in the shot put and the weight throw...Finished sixth overall in the shot put at the conference meet in Pocatello, Idaho with a mark of 45-10.50...That mark is a career best and ranks as the fourth best in Weber State indoor history...Finished 15th in the conference meet in the weight throw with a mark of 45-01.00.
2007: Outdoor - Alex set a new Weber State freshman record in the hammer throw with a mark of 159-06, set April 7 at the Javier's Wildcat Outdoor Open in Ogden...That mark also ranks as the fifth best in Weber State history and qualified her for the Big Sky Championships...She also posted a mark of 44-07.00 in the shot put, which ranks as the seventh best in school history...Competed in two events at the Big Sky Championships in Pocatello, Idaho...Finished in 11th place in the shot put and took 12th in the hammer throw at the conference meet.
2007 Indoor - Posted two marks in the school's all-time top ten...Set a Weber State freshman record in the weight throw with a mark of 51-01.75, set at the Big Sky Conference Championships...That mark also ranks as the second best in school history...Qualified for the conference championships in the weight throw and the shot put...Finished ninth in the weight throw and in 11th place in the shot put...Posted a career best mark of 45-04.00 in the shot put, the fourth best mark in school history.
High School: Graduated from Bonneville High School where she earned three letters each in track and field, soccer, and basketball...Was an All-State Track and field performer as a junior and senior...Won the Utah State Championship in the Shot Put in 2005 and 2006 and won the State title in the Discus as a senior in 2006...Was also named to the Academic All-State Track Team as a senior...In 2006 was honored as the Bonneville High School Gold Watch winner.
Personal: Was born July 17, 1988 in Ogden...Parents are John and Camille Filiaga...Is the oldest of four children...Alex is also the President of the Weber State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
