Saga Hagelin receives All-Conference Honors in 5,000 Meters

The Weber State women's track and field team tallied 42.5 points to place 5th at the Big Sky Indoor Championships in Pocatello, Idaho.

"I'm proud of our team this weekend," Head Coach Lindsey Anderson said. "We battled through some ups and downs, but overall saw growth from last year and are excited about the progress we are seeing."

The Wildcats had 16 Top-8 finishes to score team points.

Saga Hagelin finished 3rd in the 5,000m at 16:56.83. Hagelin recorded 11 points for the Wildcats. Audrey Camp Cazier placed 7th with a time of 17:21.19. Hailey Day followed closely in 8th at 17:21.39.

Bailey Tovey placed 4th in the Shot Put with a mark of 48'-10.25.

Charlotte Wilkinson placed 5th in the 800m with a time of 2:12.81.

The Distance Medley Relay team of Elayna Loveridge, Abby Beus Egbert, Sandra Aberg, and Hannah Bailey placed 5th in the 4,000m race at 11:57.05.

Abby Triplett had a mark of 5'-6.00 in the high jump to place 5th.

Saga Hagelin ran a time of 4:55.78 in the mile to place 5th. Hannah Bailey placed 8th in the mile at 4:58.80.

Lucy Harris placed 6th in the Pentathlon with a score of 3,544 total points.

Gurleen Mander placed 6th in the Weight Throw with a mark of 59'-11.00. Teisa Halaufia threw a mark of 59'-5.75 for 7th, closely followed by Alyssa Hansen at 58'-4.00 in 8th.

Saga Hagelin also placed 8th in the 3,000m at 9:58.86.

Angelyca Chapman had a time of 56.90 in the 400m for 8th place.

The 4x400m team of Lucy Harris, Abby Beus Egbert, Abby Egbert, and Brecklyn Bugnet finished 8th with a time of 3:51.81.

"The freshman did a great job. Several athletes did multiple events over the course of the championships and did a phenomenal job. As always, our seniors represented themselves well and were great leaders throughout the weekend, making it to finals, scoring points, and being examples of exactly what we're working for," Anderson said.

The Outdoor Season will begin March 26th in Orem, Utah at the UVU Invitational.
