WSU women finish sixth at Big Sky Championships

The Wildcats had three All-Big Sky performances in the conference meet.
The Weber State women's track and field team finished in sixth place at the 2026 Big Sky Championships. The meet was held at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon, and hosted by Portland State.
The meet was hit by torrential rain, and Saturday had three lightning delays. The Wildcats totaled 58 points to claim sixth place.
Head coach Lindsey Anderson and the Wildcats had three athletes earn All-Big Sky honors.
Saga Hagelin finished second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a career-best time of 9:56.69. That time ranks as the fifth-best in Weber State history and is currently in the top 10 in the NCAA West region.
The steeplechase was WSU's top event as the Wildcats scored 11 points in the event and had two all-time top ten performances. In addition to Hagelin, Audrey Cazier was seventh at 10:17.81, which is the 10th-fastest in Wildcat history, and should also qualify her for the NCAA West meet. Danielle Brow finished eighth in the steeplechase with a career-best time of 10:23.27.
Charlotte Wilkinson earned All-Big Sky honors in the 800 meters as she posted a time of 2:07.60 to finish third overall.
Senior Alyssa Hansen Freestone was second in the hammer throw at 179-089 to also earn all-conference honors. She was WSU's top scorer in the meet with 12 points. She also finished fifth in the javelin with a mark of 145-10.
Lucy Harris started the meet on Wednesday and Thursday in the heptathlon, finishing fourth overall with 4,838 points.
Senior Abby Triplett finished fifth in the high jump with a seasonal best mark of 5-07.25. Bailey Tovey was fifth in the shot put and also had a seasonal best at 46-02.50.
Cazier came back Saturday afternoon and took fifth in the 5,000 meters with a career-best time of 16:35.08.
Hailey Day was sixth in the 10,000 meters at 35:08.21, and Hannah Bailey finished seventh in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:28.26.
WSU was seventh in the final event of the meet, the 4x400 meter relay, with a seasonal best time of 3:51.88.
Up next will be the NCAA West First Round meet, which will be held May 27-30 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The top 48 athletes in the West in each event will qualify for the meet.
