The following year Reynolds coached another freshman, Michelle Hessing, to All-Newcomer honors in the conference.

Reynolds is a native of Lakewood, Colorado. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Colorado in 1999. In the summer of 2001, Reynolds was an assistant coach for the Big 12 All-Star Team on their tour of Europe.
