Jeff Linder came to WSU as part of Randy Rahe's staff after spending the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at Midland (Texas) JC where he served under Coach Grant McCasland. Midland posted a record of 53-16 during his two-year stint. The 2005-06 squad was 26-10 and made it to the "elite eight" at the national junior college tournament.

Two players off of that team, Daviin Davis and Arturas Valeika, joined Lindner at Weber State for the 2006-07 season.

Before going to Midland, Linder spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Emporia State under David Moe, the son of legendary ABA and NBA coach Doug Moe. In his third season at Emporia, the team posted a 22-5 record and earned a number three seed in the NCAA Division II tournament.

He also spent one season as the assistant director of men’s basketball operations at the University of Colorado under head coach Ricardo Patton.

Linder graduated from Centaurus High School in Lafayette, Colorado and attended Mesa State College where he played one season before transferring to Western State where he played three seasons under Coach Bob Hofman. He earned All-Rocky Mountain Conference honors on the court and in the classroom all three seasons.

He and his wife, Kelli, are the parents of an 20-month old daughter, Adison and a two-month old son named Jordan Jeffrey.
