Meagan Thunell
Meagan Thunell is the Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator for Weber State Athletics. She was named to the position in February 2020. 

In her role, Thunell is responsible for student-athlete support services and will have specific sports supervision. She also assists with academics and NCAA compliance.

Thunell is a member of the Weber State Athletics Hall of Fame and is in administration after many years as a coach and standout player for the Weber State women’s soccer team. 

During the 2019 season, she served as the interim head coach for the Wildcat team and was also the Interim Senior Woman Administrator. 

Thunell played soccer at Weber State from 1998-2001. She helped lead the Wildcats to their first-ever Big Sky Conference Championship as a freshman in 1998. She is one of three players to earn All-Big Sky honors four times and was named the Big Sky Defensive MVP in 1999. 

She still ranks as WSU’s career leader in saves and shutouts. She was inducted into the Weber State Hall of Fame in 2016. 

Following her playing career, she spent 14 seasons as an assistant coach with the Wildcats, helping Weber State to three Big Sky Championships and two appearances in the NCAA Championships, before serving as the interim head coach at Weber State during the 2019 season. 

Thunell graduated from Weber State in 2001 with a degree in English and Spanish Teaching. She earned a master’s degree in English from Weber State in 2008 and earned a second master’s degree in Taxation in 2018. 

She also spent three seasons as a coach at Mountain Crest High School, including serving as the head coach in 2004.
