  Stan Watts was a two-year letterman in basketball, baseball and track and field at Weber Junior College, then went on to an outstanding coaching career at the high school and college level.
  Watts came to Weber JC from Murray, Utah, where he earned notoriety in basketball, baseball and track and field with the Wildcats.
  Watts became a successful high school coach at Millard and Jordan high schools, leading the schools to success in basketball and track and field. He also was the athletic director at Dixie Junior College in 1941-45, coaching basketball, football and track and field there.
 Watts became the head men’s basketball coach at Brigham Young University, a position he held for 23 seasons. Watts compiled a school-record 433 victories at BYU, and guided the Cougars to the National Invitational Tournament championships in 1951 and 1966.
 Watts served as the Cougars’ athletic director from 1971 to 1976; during that time he signed the first BYU-WSU men’s basketball contract in 1973.
 Watts is a member of the NACDA Hall of Fame, the Utah Sports Hall of Fame and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. He also served on several national and Olympic committees during his career.
 Watts and his wife, Emily, are the parents of three daughters and a son.
