OGDEN, Utah -- The Weber State women's soccer team and the Gonzaga Bulldogs battled through wet field conditions to a scoreless tie at Wildcat Soccer Field on Sunday as the 'Cats wound up the bulk of their non-conference schedule.
WSU outshot the 'Zags 23 to 11 overall and posted 12 shots on-goal to Gonzaga's nine, but the home side could not break through for the winning score.
Rebecca Ritchie recorded nine saves to earn her third shutout of the season. Gonzaga goalkeeper Lauren Ames posted 12 saves of her own to keep the Wildcats off the board. The majority of the Wildcat chances came on shots from distance, and Ames was forced to make a pair of leaping one-handed saves on shots by Hayley McCoy to preserve her clean sheet.
Weber State will open up the Big Sky schedule on Thursday, Oct. 9 as they host Montana at 1:00 p.m. Only an Oct. 28 date with Brigham Young in Provo, Utah remains on the Weber State non-conference slate.
