WSU Swept 3-0 by Portland State

Portland State swept Weber State 3-0 Saturday night to hand the Wildcats their second straight Big Sky Conference loss. The Vikings picked up a 25-19, 25-20, 25-23 win to improve to 2-0 in conference action. Weber State falls to 8-5 overall and 0-2 in league play.
In the first set the match was tied 13-13 when Portland State went on a 9-3 run and never looked back. PSU hit .441 in the first set and never trailed in the second set.
The Wildcats made it a match in the third set and held a 21-20 lead late in the set. With the match tied at 22-22, the Vikings finished off the ?Cats with a 3-1 run.
Portland State hit .250 for the match, compared to .163 for the Wildcats. Both teams posted 41 kills in the match.
The Wildcats were led by Chelsea Bair who had 11 kills and ten digs for her sixth double-double of the season. Junior Amy Dunford posted a career-high with nine kills and hit .571 for the match.
Bair was one of four Wildcats in double-figures in digs, led by Caitlyn Anderson with 12.
“Portland State beat us in every facet of the game and they were the better team tonight,” said WSU head coach Al Givens. “We need to take care of ourselves and work on getting better. We can't feel sorry for ourselves.”
Weber State will now hit the road and step out of conference action for a match at Utah Valley next Tuesday. They will then return home to host Idaho State next Friday.
