Utes Knock off Wildcats 3-1

After losing the first set, Utah broke off three straight sets to knock off Weber State 3-1 Tuesday night at the Swenson Gym. It was Utah's sixth straight win over the Wildcats. The Utes picked up a 22-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-19 in front of 703 fans at the Swenson Gym.
Utah held a 19-16 lead in the first set when Weber State went off on an 11-3 run to finish off the set and take a 1-0 lead.
Utah pulled ahead to win the second set and never trailed in the third or fourth set in route to the win. They have now beaten the Wildcats in 12 of the last 13 matches the two teams have faced.
The Utes finished the night with ten more kills than the Wildcats and hit .224, compared to .149 for Weber State.
The Wildcats were led by Chelsea Bair who posted 13 kills and 12 digs for her eighth double-double of the year. She has now posted double digits in kills in 15 straight matches.
Two Wildcats reached career milestones on Tuesday night. Senior Leah Burmeister also had a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs for her second double-double of the season. The ten kills also moved her over the 1,000 career kills mark, becoming just the 11th player in school history with 1,000 career kills. She is also the sixth Wildcat to record 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs.
Junior Caitlyn Anderson posted 15 digs and also reached the 1,000 career digs mark, the seventh Wildcat to reach that milestone.
Jenna Leggat and Brittney Bisaillon both posted seven kills in the match with the Utes. Jocilyn Randall had 25 assists to lead the Wildcats.
Weber State will stay home for another non-conference match this Thursday when they host Cal State Bakersfield at 7:00 p.m. at the Swenson Gym.
