Bair Leads Wildcats to 3-2 Win at Montana State

Chelsea Bair posted 23 kills and her fourth double-double of the year to lead the Weber State volleyball team to a 3-2 win at Montana State Friday night. The Wildcats won the match 22-25, 25-17, 25-18, 23-25, 15-10 to improve to 3-12 on the season and 2-3 in Big Sky Conference action.
MSU captured the first set but the Wildcats rallied back to never trail in the second or third set and take a 2-1 lead. The Wildcats looked to close out the match in the fourth set but MSU was able to maintain the lead late to set up the decisive fifth set.
In that set Weber State broke away from a 4-4 tie with four straight points and never looked back in route to the victory. Jenna Leggat added four kills in the final set, finishing with nine on the night. All three of Weber State's wins have come in five sets.
Weber State posted six more kills and 14 more digs than the Bobcats and also out hit them .214 to .160. Montana State out blocked the Wildcats 10-6. The win was Weber State's first road victory of the season.
Bair's 23 kills is the second most of her career but the first time since her freshman year of 2005 that she has posted 20 or more kills in a match. She has now done so four times in her career at Weber State.
She added 13 digs on the night for her fourth double-double of the year and has posted a double-double in all three of Weber State's wins this season.
Senior Caitlyn Anderson had her first double-double of the season and the fourth of her career, finishing with 12 kills and a team-high 14 digs. Kim Lissinna finished the night with 25 assists and 11 digs.
The win gave Weber State a 2-3 win in Big Sky play. Montana State dropped to 2-11 and 0-4 on the year and has now lost 40 straight Big Sky Conference matches.
The Wildcats will continue their road trip when they play at Montana Saturday night in Missoula. The Grizzlies lost 3-1 at home to Idaho State Friday night.
