Abby Thorderson did her best to keep the Wildcats in the game, scoring a career-high 14 points on 5 of 8 shooting from the floor to lead all scorers in the game. The younger of the Thorderson sisters hit four three-point shots and also dished out four assists in 22 minutes off the bench.

The Miners scored the game's first nine points to grab an early lead and would never trail. UTEP led by as many as 19 points and led by 16 points before Abby Thorderson and Caela Mohre each hit a three-pointer over the last 40 seconds to trim the lead to 12.

Tonya Schnibbe added 13 points and six assists, while Caitlin Anderson chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds.
