WSU Falters in Second Half vs. Eagles

CHENEY, Wash. -- The Weber State women's basketball team (8-15 overall; 3-7 Big Sky) led by three at the half, but was outscored by 16 points over the final 20 minutes to fall 69-56 to Eastern Washington (10-14; 5-6) at Reese Court on Thursday night.
The Wildcats were doomed by poor shooting from the field in the second half, hitting just 6 of 31 shots for 19.4 percent after hitting at a 38.5 percent clip before halftime. WSU finished the game at 28.1 percent, while Eastern Washington hit 39.7 percent.
Caitlin Anderson's four-game double-double streak came to an end as she finished the night with 14 points but only seven rebounds. Tonya Schnibbe scored a team-high 15 points, Ali Thorderson added 10 and Sarah Conner chipped in with eight points and a team-high five assists.
Julie Piper led all scorers with 16 points for the Eagles, while Chene Cooper and Pauline Ferrall each added 14. Piper also pulled down a game-high eight rebounds.
The Wildcats will remain on the road to face league-leading Portland State on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 3:00 p.m. MDT.
